Despite a minor crash in his heat World Supercross champion Chad Reed had a convincing win in the first round of the Australian Super X series of which Reed has had a major part in supporting.
Perth Motorplex built a sick supercross track tailor made for the best in Australia to match it with the worlds best. It was also supposed to feature some of the best FMX riders the Southern Hemisphere could produce but strong winds ended any chance of the likes of Matt Schubring, Cam Sinclair, Steve Mini and Levi Sherwood the chance to do all sorts off crazy upside down stuff.
Chad Reed had a good early challenge from eventual runner up Dan Reardon in the first heat before Reardon crashed in the heat of battle (See Video Footage). Reed built up a big lead before crashing himself but it didn’t effect the finish. In the final Reed took the lead early and ended up lapping all but four competitors. Finally finishing 25 seconds ahead of Reardon and Jay Marmont in third.
In the lites Jake Moss overcame a wrist injury to beat his brother Matt. FMX and Racing star Robbie Marshall had a bad crash in practice on the Supercross triple and grew a second ankle on his right foot.
The next round is in Adelaide soon
